Truth in Absence is based on the story of Logan C. Hamilton’s childhood in Hailey, Idaho. Hailey is now known as the backdrop for the world-famous Sun Valley ski resort – the “Switzerland of America.”

Hailey and neighboring Bellevue began as mining boomtowns, famous for their gambling, drinking, and red light districts. As such, they provided a unique and challenging setting for a young boy growing up in the early 1900s.
