R. Michelle Ribar began creating characters and imaginary worlds before she entered school. She told stories before she could write, convincing unsuspecting adults to scribe her tales. Afterward, the drawing would commence, and the small handwritten books were soon filled with pictures. She wrote short stories throughout school and continued with her artistic endeavors. She was voted Most Artistic in her graduating class of high school, and loves combining visual arts and literature. She received a degree in Psychology and a minor in Genetics from North Carolina State University, where she became interested in an array of socially charged topics, including gender and family dynamics, and adolescent development. Her diverse interests are reflected in Teseyende, which is a more developed version of a story she wrote first in eighth grade. She currently lives in Raleigh, North Carolina.
